I have two articles in this issue.
The first article I wrote for this issue, April Showers on the East End of Long Island (pages 17-19), is in keeping with my previous columns for ACES, and highlights upcoming events on the East End of Long Island originally scheduled for this April.
However, as we reached our deadline in mid-March, at least one of these events was postponed. Please check the venues for cancellations, as I am certain others have since followed suit given our 'new normal' in the moment. Some venues, I am told, will be streaming, or offering other options online. Which brings me to my second article.
My second article in this issue, A World of Art at your Fingertips (page 6-7), celebrates so many of the wonderful websites that we are able to access while remaining quarantined at home with our families. With every challenge we collectively face, we manage to collectively find the silver lining in those challenges, very often summoning dormant creative forces within ourselves to do so.
Where we can’t leave our homes, we find new ways of bringing our creative talents to your homes, be it through an online publication, or through the many links you will find in my second article that bring the magic of live theater, opera, art fairs and national parks to you.
We hope you are all staying safe, responsible and healthy while finding your own creative ways to be utilizing your newfound time.
